Monread

Shopping Centre, Naas

The construction project at Monread Shopping Centre in Naas involved building a shopping center, a Tesco Format 80 Supermarket, and associated site works. To optimize the construction process, the structural steelwork was prefabricated during the holiday period and was ready for erection when works resumed after Christmas. Additionally, the substructure design was changed to stone piling in order to accelerate the construction programme. In order to minimize disruption to customers, the project was carried out in two phases, allowing the shopping center to commence trading and provide an early investment return. This required PCL to work within a live trading environment, managing safety and security while ensuring that customers had a high-quality shopping experience. The end result was a modern, fully-functional shopping destination for the community to enjoy.
